About Brooke:
Brooke’s originally from the USA, where she has 8 years of clinical experience working with adults, families, and groups in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Brooke has a BSc in Psychology. She is a registered psychotherapist, EMDR (Eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapist.
Her passions lie in working with people impacted by trauma, attachment disorders, relational distress, addiction, low mood, anxiety, and general unhappiness. Brooke offers both online and in-person sessions in Inverness, and she works with individuals aged 11 and above.
Brooke’s approach to therapy and client work:
As a practitioner, Brooke understands the importance of the therapeutic relationship and is intentional about making sure that she is working with clients that feel like the right fit for her approach and personality. She focuses on helping clients understand why they feel the way they feel and then helping them to use that understanding to fuel change.
Brooke assists individuals struggling with sexual addictions and problematic sexual behaviour – sexual addiction/compulsive sexual behaviour, pornography addiction (particularly internet pornography addiction).
Brooke’s special interest is working with people who have experienced trauma/PTSD. Using trauma-focused therapies and EMDR to heal wounds caused by trauma. This includes Intimate betrayal trauma - Working with people whose partners have emotionally or sexually betrayed them.
Brooke uses modalities like CBT, DBT, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and EMDR to help clients understand and heal underlying causes of external problems. This may involve helping clients build resilience; repair attachment wounds and learn to have more stable relationships.

Brooke’s qualifications and professional background:
Brooke has a BSc in Psychology and Addictions counselling. She also has a masters degree in social work and is a registered member of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Brooke is a certified sex addiction therapist and an EMDR trained therapist.
